My dog needs a walk every day. I don't walk her every day, but if I could I would. Who doesn't enjoy picking up a giant Akita poop while sipping a morning cup of coffee? Our general schedule is about 3-5 times a week, not too bad. I have to work most days, I do have a life, but it's worth it to wake a bit early to enjoy these simple things.
We enjoy walking in better neighborhoods than our own, and I take photographs of all the lovely blooms (I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR) with my outdated cellphone. I post them on Facebook so my friends and family can see the colorful beauty pop up sometime in their day. It has to be a nice break from the political storm and daily negative blurbs. Sunshine, water, nature and the flowers must be the best medicine on earth. I was very proud of myself today because I did yoga at the fancy pool where we temporarily have membership. I do it alone on the nicely mowed grass in the sunshine. The dog sits in the car and patiently waits--it can't always be about her. Yoga is something else, wow. I just started about a year ago, but it makes my life feel so full of light again. It forces me to wake up in a different way. I let go of time, stress and anxiety. It builds up throughout the week but now can be easily released in these simple slow breathing movements. I meditate for a bit afterwards and all seems okay again. It's not that life sucked, but the daily crap we have have to do to maintain is really piles of endless, painful chores that never end. When I do yoga and meditate I get to become me again. I like me. I forget most days, but it's nice to be reminded.
