Acrylic on Canvas
36x36 $3700 original Prints will be available soon This painting is a parody of my experience returning to the hill. I love Nevada County, it was my home for the first 25 years of my life. I lived in Penn Valley, Rough and Ready, Nevada City, Cedar Ridge and North San Juan during those formative years. Each place is very special and wonderful in its own way. Moving to the little city of Sacramento, was enlightening for my artistic growth, though, and where I spent the next 20 years of my life. I met so many wonderful, like minded artists, made many friends and started my family. Fate brought me back to the country, but I do miss the ethnic food, diversity and camaraderie of the city. Becoming reacquainted with my surroundings, has been quite a shock to the system, but I'm at peace. The Great Spirit is with me wherever I go, so I'm always home. I feel this painting truly expresses how insane I am, and also that I'm a total nerd. There are 26 different animal species (fauna) and 7 recognizable flora.

6x9 Artemis or Diana. Our first meeting was in a dream. I rode a giant, wild stag through the forest. When I awoke, then did my research, I realized who I was. I might have been a teenager at the time, or at least in my early 20's. I was going to name my daughter Diana, after this Goddess, but my baby said, "No, Emerald," from inside my belly. I must be blessed. Watercolor
6x9 Native island flowers. Em called our Girabaldi fish "derpy," but it was the only one she saw while snorkeling. Dan and I saw so many. Such a lovely adventure. Watercolor
6x9 When I turned my ankle (it's broken), on the highest point of the Safari Park, looking for the zip line with Emerald, near the condors, all was not lost. I sent my family away to continue the mission "Meet me at the lions," and then I limped to the first aid care center. The zip line took forever, and so I made friends with the lion trainer who took me backstage in my goofy lender wheelchair, to meet his friends. They are magnificent creatures, more like dogs. 40 x 90
